I first want to thank all my family, friends and coworkers and customers at the Morrissey Post Office and all the other people I've met since the following articles came out...Thanks.... I went to Alaska and competed in the 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships not thinking I had a chance but walked away as World Champion in Natural Goatee. After two stories ran about the competition in the Santa Cruz Weekly and the Santa Cruz Sentinel and such strong really cool support from everyone around the Santa Cruz area congratulating me, I decided to start a Santa Cruz team so some other first time competitor from this area can have the same chance. Our website is a work in progress so keep checking back for more news and updates as the Santa Cruz Chapter grows!

Our Mission Statement
Santa Cruz Chapter
Our mission statement is To have fun and do some good (after all this is Santa Cruz) to promote the respect of those with facial hair. Some examples, take your M/C on a toy run, volunteer for a food bank or other charity, give blood, build an irrigation system in a third world country or if you don’t have free time donate money to a worthy cause. Unless otherwise stated all proceeds from sales of Santa Cruz Chapter shirts or other items will be split between Locks of Love, which provides wigs for children with serious illnesses and promotion of our chapter.
Special Visit
I've been assured by Phil Olsen, Head of Beard Team USA that if schedule permits he will be here to support us. We plan to invite current and former champions to encourage all to participate in the competitions.
